At the age of 11 Sebastiaan discovered that, in addition to the intellectual development at school, there was much more to learn. He came into contact with martial arts where his exploration of the possibilities of body and mind began. Through time he has explored a more integrated approach to his own consciousness. This entails the pursuit of a healthy balance in body, mind, heart and hands.
He has a background in various martial arts. In addition to holding a black belt in Taekwondo, he trained Kyokushinkai Karate and Iwama Ryu Aikido for some period. Currently he dedicates himself to learning the ways of Lu Kung Fu, Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Kung. He is particularly interested in the relationship between these forms and the effects and applicability in the daily hustle and bustle of a Western society full of distractions and temptations.
Besides his work through Mind your Move he is actively involved in contributing to a smoother transition towards a sustainable society. He does this as a social entrepreneur in The Hague by applying participatory processes that tap into the deeper values and motives of people. Movement and action towards a shared vision of the group then naturally start from within. He applies these same principles as a certified Agile Project Manager and Trainer to help organisations in creating effective teams that strategically collaborate to reach business goals.
